SeaLegs AI is a marine weather and fishing app for iPhone, iPad and Android. Its AI reads professional weather models and satellite ocean data and turns them into a plain-language forecast for your trip, on your boat.

There are four tools: TripCast for a planned trip, SpotCast for one spot over several days, DeepCast for offshore fishing reports, and TripTracker for live conditions while you're out. There's also a free ocean map.

• TripCast: you know where you're going and when. You get a verdict for that trip along your route.
• SpotCast: you have a favorite spot and want to pick the best day over the next few days.
• DeepCast: you're fishing offshore and want to know where the warm water, color breaks and eddies are.
• TripTracker: you're on the water on a TripCast trip and want conditions re-checked as you go.

Yes, it's free to download. The free plan includes 5 SpotCasts and 2 TripCasts every month, plus the ocean map and weekly Featured Reports. New accounts also start with a free trial of unlimited SpotCasts and TripCasts. See Plans & billing for Plus and Pro.

iPhone, iPad and Android. Get it on the App Store or Google Play. You can also use SeaLegs AI in a web browser: sign in on the SeaLegs AI map to create SpotCasts, TripCasts and DeepCast reports. Everything you make syncs between the app and the web.

You need an account to create casts, in the app or on the web. On iPhone and iPad you can sign in with Apple, Google or email. On Android and the web, sign in with Google or email. Use the same account everywhere and your casts, spots and plan follow you. The ocean map and Featured Reports work without an account.

• GO: conditions suit your boat for this trip.
• CAUTION: the trip is workable, but something needs your attention, such as wind building through the day, a rough window or a sloppy ride home.
• AVOID: conditions are likely beyond what's comfortable or safe for your boat. You may also see this called NO-GO.

The verdict depends on the vessel you enter. The same forecast can be a GO for a 38 ft sportfisher and an AVOID for a 17 ft skiff.

Every TripCast and SpotCast compares two global weather models, GFS (NOAA) and ECMWF (the European model), along with their wave models. You can choose which one leads in Settings. Ocean data for the map and DeepCast comes from NASA, NOAA and E.U. Copernicus Marine: satellite sea surface temperature and chlorophyll, sea level (for eddies), and ocean-model currents.

SeaLegs AI uses the same models meteorologists use, and it checks them against each other so you can see when they disagree. Marine weather still changes, so check again the day before and the morning you leave. SeaLegs AI is a planning aid. It doesn't replace official warnings or your own judgment on the water.

A full marine forecast for one trip, worked out for your route, your departure time and your boat.

TripCast follows your boat along the route hour by hour, so it forecasts the water you'll actually be on at each point of the trip, not just the conditions at the dock. It covers wind and gusts, wave height, period and direction, how the seas sit against your heading, visibility and rain. On a round trip, that includes the ride home.

An AI captain's analysis then explains in plain language what the trip will feel like: when the wind builds, where it gets rough and what to watch for. Last comes a GO / CAUTION / AVOID verdict, with a confidence level that shows how closely the weather models agree. The verdict sums up the trip, and the forecast shows why.

1. Tap + on the Home screen and choose TripCast.
2. Where: set a departure and a destination from Favorites, Nearby, the map or search. Tap the route line to add a waypoint, or long-press and drag a pin to move it.
3. When: choose One Way or Round Trip, your departure date and time, and when you'll be back.
4. Vessel: boat type, length and cruising speed.
5. Review and tap Create. You'll get a notification when the analysis is ready.

On the web: sign in on the map, tap + and choose Trip forecast. The steps are the same as in the app, and you can also import a route from your chartplotter as a GPX, KML or KMZ file.

• Trip analysis: a plain-language summary, the details and the main risk factors.
• Key conditions: the trip's maximum wind and wave height, minimum visibility and rain risk.
• Route map: an animated map of your route and the conditions along it.
• Hourly table: where the boat is each hour, with wind, gusts, waves, wave period, visibility and rain.
• Verdict and confidence: GO / CAUTION / AVOID, and how sure the forecast is.

Up to 10 days ahead. Routes can be up to 500 nm, and trips up to 48 hours.

Yes. In the 4 days before departure, SeaLegs AI re-checks your trip each day as new model runs come in, and once more in the last hours before you leave. If the verdict changes, you'll get a notification. You'll also get a reminder about an hour before departure. TripCasts made on the web on the Free plan aren't re-checked automatically.

Power boat, sailboat, yacht, catamaran, sport fisher, trawler and kayak (which also covers canoes, rowboats and SUPs). Save your usual boat under Settings → Vessel so you don't have to enter it every time.

A multi-day marine forecast for one place, such as an inlet, reef, wreck, sandbar or launch ramp, to help you pick the best day to go.

Each day gets its own forecast for the hours you plan to be out: wind speed and direction, wave height and direction, and a trend that shows whether conditions are building or easing through the day. A plain-language summary explains what the day will be like and picks out the best time window. Each day also gets a GO / CAUTION / AVOID verdict for your boat, with a confidence level.

1. Tap + and choose SpotCast.
2. Pick a spot from Favorites, My Spots or Public Spots, or drop a pin anywhere on the water.
3. Choose a start date, how many days to look at (2 to 5), and how long you'll be out (2 to 48 hours).
4. Review and tap Create. It usually takes 30 to 60 seconds.

On the web: sign in on the map, tap + and choose Spot forecast, or tap a spot on the map and choose Forecast this spot.

SpotCast uses the boat saved under Settings → Vessel, in the app or on the web.

• Day cards: each day's verdict, best window, wind and waves at a glance.
• Daily detail: the summary, a 24-hour wind and wave trend chart and a confidence meter.
• Timeline: scrub or play through the day hour by hour.

Found your day? Tap Plan Trip for This Day to turn it into a TripCast.

Your 2 to 5 day window can start today or later, as long as it ends within the next 10 days.

Pull down on the SpotCast to refresh it, or use the ··· menu on its card. SeaLegs AI also refreshes it for you: Plus and Pro SpotCasts update every day starting 3 days before your start date, and Free SpotCasts update once, the day before. If a day's verdict changes, you'll get a notification.

SpotCast is for one place over several days, to help you pick the day. TripCast is for a route on a specific day and time, to tell you whether that trip is a go. Many people start with a SpotCast, then turn the best day into a TripCast.

Live GPS tracking for a TripCast trip. While you're out, TripTracker follows your actual position, re-checks conditions for each part of the route ahead, and alerts you if something changes or you're off course.

1. Create a TripCast for your trip.
2. Within 2 hours of departure, tap + and choose Trip Tracker.
3. Select your TripCast and tap START.

Set location access to Always (on Android, Allow all the time) so tracking keeps working when your phone is locked. Your location is only recorded during an active trip.

It stops on its own when you get back, and you'll get a notification. You can also tap STOP at any time. If a trip runs well past its planned return, or the phone loses GPS for several hours, tracking stops automatically.

It needs a data connection, either cellular or satellite internet such as Starlink, to send your position and get updated conditions.

An AI offshore fishing report for the area and day you choose. It reads satellite sea surface temperature, chlorophyll (water color), eddies, temperature fronts, currents and depth, along with the weather. Then it tells you where to look and why.

A report includes annotated temperature and chlorophyll maps, an inshore / midshore / offshore breakdown, the eddies, fronts and currents that matter, target species and tactics, recommended spots with GPS coordinates, the wind and wave outlook, and a downloadable PDF.

In the app: tap +, choose DeepCast, set your analysis zone and fishing date, then start the analysis. DeepCast appears in the app when your phone's region is set to a country it covers.

On the web: open the DeepCast map, place the analysis zone over your port or a dropped pin and tap Analyze. Then choose your fishing date and tap Analyze Now, or Buy Now if you're not signed in.

A report takes about 5 to 10 minutes, and you'll be notified when it's ready. You can also order ahead: up to 7 days on the web, or up to 14 days in the app. Reports for a future date are built the day before your trip, using the freshest satellite data.

$4.99 per report. On the web there's also a 10-pack for $39.99, and those credits never expire. Plus includes 1 report a month and Pro includes 3. Included reports reset monthly and don't roll over. You can buy a single report on the web without an account.

The US East, West and Gulf coasts, the Great Lakes, the Caribbean, Mexico (Pacific and Gulf), Central America, Brazil, the Mediterranean, the UK, Ireland and North Sea, Spain and Portugal's Atlantic coast and the Bay of Biscay, the northern Arabian Sea, all around Australia, and New Zealand. Sea surface temperature, chlorophyll, depth and subsurface temperature, with overlays for animated currents, temperature fronts, eddies, depth contours, inlets and fishing zones. It updates daily. Open the Map tab in the app, or use the web map with no account.

Free DeepCast reports for popular fishing regions, refreshed weekly. Find them on the map. No signup needed.

Open the Spots tab and add a spot by:

• Using a photo that has GPS location data.
• Taking a photo of your chart plotter screen. The AI reads the coordinates.
• Finding it on the map.
• Typing in the coordinates.
• Importing waypoints from a Garmin GPX file (up to 1,000 at once).

Your spots show up in My Spots and in the spot picker when you create a SpotCast or TripCast.

A curated set of named, real places: inlets, canyons, reefs, wrecks and banks. You can forecast any of them without setting it up yourself. Add the ones you use to Favorites.

Tap Share on any SpotCast, TripCast or DeepCast to send a link. Anyone can open it in a browser. If they have the app, it opens there in a read-only "Shared with you" section. You can tap Stop Sharing at any time to turn the link off.

When a cast is ready, when a SpotCast or TripCast verdict changes, about an hour before departure, when a DeepCast report is ready, and TripTracker alerts while you're out. You can turn them off under Settings → Preferences → Push Notifications.

Tap the stars on any cast card to rate it from 1 to 5 and add a note. We read them, and they help us improve the forecasts. You can also use Settings → Feedback → Send Feedback, or email support@sealegs.ai.

Monthly limits reset every month. Extra DeepCast reports are $4.99 on any plan.

Yes. New accounts get a free trial with unlimited SpotCasts and TripCasts. DeepCast reports aren't included. When the trial ends, you're on the Free plan unless you choose Plus or Pro, and you're never charged automatically.

Subscriptions are bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play. Your plan also works on the web when you sign in with the same account, and your monthly SpotCasts and TripCasts are shared between the app and the web. DeepCast reports can be bought directly on the web.

In the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription. You can also cancel in your iPhone's Settings (tap your name, then Subscriptions) or in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.

Sign in with the same account, then go to Settings → Subscription (on iPhone, tap Manage Subscription next) and tap Restore Purchases.

Apple and Google handle refunds for purchases made in the app. Request one through the App Store or Google Play. For a DeepCast report bought on our website, email support@sealegs.ai.

Yes. In Settings, choose distance (nm, mi or km), speed (knots, mph or m/s), height (ft or m) and coordinate format (decimal degrees, or degrees and decimal minutes). You can also choose which weather model leads, ECMWF or GFS.

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can delete just the account, or the account and all its data. See our Privacy Policy for how data is handled.

Yes. The SpotCast API returns the same AI forecast as the app, tailored to a vessel, for any coordinates. You start with 10 free credits and no card is needed. After that it's pay as you go from $10, and credits never expire. One credit is one forecast day for one location, with a 2-credit minimum per forecast. Get a key at the Developer Portal, and see the developer FAQ for details.

Yes:

• SpotCast widget: a live forecast for your location. It uses API credits.
• Tide widget: free for US NOAA stations, with no key or signup. A worldwide, white-label version is also available.
• WordPress plugin: free US tide charts as a block or shortcode.

Docs and embed codes are on the Developer Portal. SpotCast widgets are set up in your developer dashboard.

Yes. Our MCP server at mcp.sealegs.ai gives AI assistants free tools for tides, sea surface temperature, chlorophyll, depth and buoy observations. SpotCast forecasts need an API key.
